Music City Mystique News

Music City Mystique finished their 2009 season with an AMAZING Finals performance at the University of Dayton Arena 4/18/09.  The group really turned it on for finals and came away with a Bronze Medal in Percussion Independent World class.  Thank you to all that helped make Championships week and the entire 2009 Season a HUGE success.  Special thanks goes out to the MCM Staff and volunteers for your help, you all help give the members a great experience.  We are now looking forward to next season which marks MCM’s 16th year in WGI competition.

MCM would also like to congratulate all the participants in this years WGI finals, especially PIW medalists Rhythm X and Riverside Community College.

Music City Mystique won their third WGI regional of 2009. This was a very important weekend for MCM as we also hosted the show with the Independence HS Band Boosters at David Lipscomb University Allen Arena. The show was a huge success! Thank you to Chris Cooper IHS Band Director and everyone else in the Independence/Mystique organizations that helped make this Nashville Regional so great!

For the second time in two weeks MCM placed first in a field of tough competition.  Winners of the Winter Guard International Dayton Percussion Regional and Indianapolis Percussion Regional in the Indepent World class.  MCM will be preparing for the WGI Nashville regional (3/21-3/22) as well as WGI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS April 17-18th in Dayton OH.   

Music City Mystique will be taking their 2009 show “Requiem” to the WGI Dayton Regional. Wish them luck as they begin the WGI competition season. Have a great show MCM!!

MCM is proud to announce its performance schedule for the upcoming 2009 season.  Scheduled performances (subject to change) are as follows:

January 31st - SCGC Show - TBA

February 21st / 22nd - WGI Mideast Regional - Dayton, OH

February 28th - SCGC Show - Independence HS, Nashville, TN

March 7th / 8th - WGI Indianapolis Regional - Indianapolis, IN

March 21st / 22nd - WGI Nashville Regional - Nashville, TN

March 28th - SCGC Championships - Nashville, TN

April 17th / 18th - WGI World Championships - University of Dayton (Dayton, OH)

Performance times and locations will be posted as those details become available.  All performances are subject to change.  Also check www.wgi.org and www.scgconline.org for more details about individual events.  Additional performances will be posted as they are added to the schedule.

I wanted to extent a thank you to all the people involved with Music City Mystique this year.  The group had two amazing runs Finals week and I could not have been more happy with our performers.  You all conducted yourselves with class and dignity, and really showed your true “Mystique”. 

MCM would also like to say Congrats to all the participants especially PIW Medalists Rhythm X, RCC, and Amachi. 

Thank you to the Board and Staff for your hard work, now we can start getting ready for 2009, our 15th Season!

Music City Mystique would like to extend thanks to all the people who helped work the WGI Mid-South Regional at Vanderbilt 3/29 and 3/30. The show ran very well and we could not have done it without your help!! We would also like to thank our partners, Independence High School band, especially Band Director Chris Cooper for all of the hours and preparation that made this years regional great.

On Friday, November 30th, Music City Mystique performed live with Keith Urban at Nashville’s Sommett Center.  Over 18,000 packed the sold out show and were treated to a great night of music and an energetic performance from Music City Mystique.  MCM would like to thank Keith Urban and all those who helped us be a part of this great event.
