McM Announces Additions to 2017 Staff


NASHVILLE, TN (September 19, 2016) – Music City Mystique announces new staff additions for the upcoming 2017 season. Mike McDonald and Dan Twiford will be joining as snare techs, in addition to Tim Provence joining the quad staff. Simultaneously, Justin Lee and John Gaal will be working with the front ensemble. The admin and media side will also be bringing on Michelle Muller and D’Angeleau Newsome to grow the team. 

Mike McDonald was a marching member of McM from 2011-2013, serving as section leader in 2013. Additionally, he has been a marching member of Spirit of Atlanta and Phantom Regiment and recently a staff member of the Cavaliers. Mike is delighted to begin his journey on the staff side of Mystique. Dan Twiford began his WGI career with Aftermath Indoor Percussion 2002-2006, and started marching Drum Corps with DCA’s the Reading Buccaneers from 2004-2007. His final season marching Drum Corps was in 2008 with the Cavaliers and in 2009 Dan joined the cast of Rhythm X where he remained until his ageout in 2010. He is excited to join the Music City Mystique Staff for the first time in 2017. Tim Provence was marching member of QMcM from 2011-2012. He also marched on the Boston Crusaders’ quad line in 2009. Tim is a sought after international percussion clinician who has written and taught for many high school, collegiate, and independent percussion programs across the globe. 

Justin Lee is pleased to return for his 7th year with Music City Mystique as part of the instructional staff after aging out as a performer in 2016. As a performer, he was a member of Spirit of Atlanta in 2010, Phantom Regiment from 2011-2014, and Music City Mystique from 2011-2016 where he served as a section leader for the latter 4 years. John Gaal was a member of McM from 2015-2016 and the Cavaliers from 2013-2015. Having marched Mystique, John is excited and thankful for the opportunity to give back to the organization which he dearly loves.

Michelle Muller is a recent graduate of Central Michigan University where she studied French, Music, and Business. She was a member of NorthCoast Academy from 2012-2014, Redline Percussion in 2015, Carolina Crown from 2013-2015, and aging out with McM in 2016. D’Angeleau Newsome is a graduate of Belmont University where he majored in Biology and Pre-Medical studies.He finished his marching career as an auxiliary percussionist for Mystique in 2015. He is excited to join the administrative staff as a media assistant.
